Peter and Wendi started their adventure into the world of audio electronics back in 1978. They set up their first company together manufacturing everything from 2" tape recorders to PA equipment. Following some early success in the 80’s, Peter and Wendi showcased some of their creations at trade shows as far as NYC after setting up a large manufacturing hub in the heart of Shrewsbury.

The deep recession of the early 90’s created a seismic shift in both demand and the industry as a whole. This coupled with the rapid growth of digital recording meant a material change in direction was required.

With Wendi’s artistic flare and financial background coupled with Peters keen interest in acoustics and construction, they were soon commissioned to undertake their first private studio project, back in 1993 for Nick Murphy of the Bassheads.

That first project led to the creation of The Studio People as we see it today. Nick Murphy’s studio was the catalyst for hundreds of further commissions over the following years, both all over the UK and overseas. This ranged from Dinemec studios in Switzerland to a high profile private client in Gabon central Africa and even the USA and Kuwait in between.

Each project represented a new challenge for the business to master, through years of continual development and improvement the media sectors catered for expanded to the offering seen today.

Today The Studio People is based near the Welsh border still close to its roots. Our team remain completely dedicated to professional studio quality, spanning across all media platforms. Having stepped back in 2019 from the business they lovingly created, both Peter and Wendi retired to the coast, beginning their next adventure.

Both act as advisors to the board of directors.
