We take all the hassle out of procuring several different contractors to do one job and are more than capable of managing your project from start to finish. Founder & Managing Director

Peter Keeling Founder & Managing Director

Peter started his Audio Electronics business way back in 1978 manufacturing everything from 2" tape recorders to PA equipment based in the beautiful county of Shropshire. The early 90s saw recession and rapid growth in digital recording so, with a keen interest in construction and acoustics, Peter undertook his 1st private studio project 1993 for Nick Murphy, Bassheads. That worked out well and quickly led to many more Studio design and Build projects both UK and overseas.

Today he manages a 30+ team of designers, engineers and builders alongside wife Wendi and son Joe. His passion for electronics and music means the company can provide a real turnkey solution to most Studio projects. With extensive travelling a key requirement when visiting clients, Peter flies himself (and sometimes staff) to sites in the company aircraft based at aviation is another passion of his and blends perfectly with the day to day role he has within the business.

Josef Keeling Operations Director

Josef started with the company as a site operative and has worked his way through the structure. Having previously managed our manufacturing facility for 6 years, Josef has now taken on overall responsibility for the companies operations as a whole, as well as heading up our Project Management Team. Josef's insight into site, manufacturing and operations perfectly places him in this global operation role. Josef's Prince 2 Practitioner qualification ensures project management within our operation follows internationally recognized standard in the interests of transparency and efficiency. Outside of work, Josef can be found competition running and enjoying a swift pint or two.

Commercial Director

Chris Smout Commercial Director

Chris has been with The Studio People for 8 years. During his time with the company he has lead the design and consultancy on many projects, from small home studios to large multi-room facilities, both within and outside the UK. His experience within acoustics has ensured we stay ahead on bringing new ideas to the media construction world and is a keen member of the Institute of Acoustics. He has a vast knowledge of AutoCAD, Artlantis 3D visual software and Revit, allowing him to manage the design through all phases of BIM and produce realistic room renders. Using the software EASE he is able to produce accurate acoustic simulations to ensure room designs achieve the specifications needed. Outside of work Chris is a budding musician, which allows him to bring his passion to work, and can often be found gigging in and around Shrewsbury.

Technical Sales Manager

John Holmes Technical Sales Manager

John started with The Studio People in 2014 to manage all elements of technical installation and manage the product sales team. Prior to working with us, John was a technician at the University of Central Lancashire managing their studio facilities while also undertaking on-site wiring projects for us. John has also worked in the professional audio industry as Head of Service and Support department at a major dealer. John has thousands of hours experience, as engineer, guitarist, producer and live sound/lighting engineering allowing him to understand all aspects of technical workflow both on creative and technical planes. John attended The Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) and received a degree in Sound Technology. Outside of work John enjoy keeping up to date on new studio software and hardware, as well as watching the F1, and spending time with his family. John is a member of The Audio Engineering Society.

Design Manager

Martin Sandells Design Manager

Martin joined The Studio People in 2015 and his first project was to design and manage the installation of steel pitched roof for a private project in Halifax. With over 10 years of construction experience covering structural works, building regulations, and being heavily involved in the BSF Martin understands in-depth technical elements of a project. He is a long-term member of the CIAT, carries a HNC in Building studies and has vast of experience with AutoCAD and Revit. Outside of work, Martin has a classic motorbike, which he undertakes restoration on and a keen interest in vintage transportation.

Finance Director

Jodie Owen Finance Director

Jodie joined TSP as an Administrator in March 2011. She graduated from Glyndwr University with her Degree in 2009 before starting her career in Finance. She is a Microsoft Excel whizz too! Outside of work she enjoys reading, cooking, knitting and walking her dog Ned.

BIM Systems Engineer

Tom Walton BIM Systems Engineer

Tom re-joined The Studio People in October 2016. With 7 years of experience in Design and Manufacture, he has a keen eye for detail along with a profound love of technical systems. Primarily using AutoCAD but has been helping to develop REVIT as a new drawing platform and has also been creating a bespoke AutoCAD system for streamlining of design processes. Outside of work Tom enjoys outdoor pursuits, walking and trekking, occasionally shooting bows and arrows and has become a famous actor treading the boards in various theatres up and down the country.

Purchasing and Procurement Manager

Kymberley Harley Purchasing and Procurement Manager

Kymberley joined us assisting in the finance department and is now operational as our Procurement Manager. Within this role, Kym has developed new systems and processes to ensure both our on and off site operations are operating at maximum efficiency using a Just In Time material procurement strategy. Kym is currently working on her CIPS (Chartered Institute in Procurement and Supply) degree to further bolster her knowledge and understanding of her role. When not in the office, Kym enjoys exercise classes and fitness training.

Production Manager

Andrew Brown Production Manager

Andrew manages our production facility, ensuring our goods are dispatched at our expected quality levels, as per our design departments issues drawings. This is for both end user retail customers, and to support our on-site activities. This role entails the procurement detailing of raw materials, and overall management of the manufacturing staff. Andrew comes to us from a traditional joinery background and often specialized in restoration work. Outside of day to day operations, Andrew enjoys competitive obstacle course and mud running, mountain biking and spending quality time with his family.

M&E Project Engineer

Doug Ord M&E Project Engineer

Trained in Electro-Mechanical Engineering with international General Electric Medical Systems, and went on to lead the prototype and pre-production team delivering many major groundbreaking medical systems. Prior to joining TSP, Doug led teams in design, construction, installation and commissioning over several years in various countries and oversaw the installation of electrical and data infrastructures for major utility companies, MOD installations, trading floors, Colleges, retail and industrial environments etc. Doug was also the Project Engineer for the first 650MHz split broad band system installed in the UK. Doug now designs and oversees the M&E requirements of all TSP projects. The diversity of our portfolio is almost as diverse as his experience so it's a perfect partnership. Having spent all of his career with a hands on, lead from the front approach, he is not just a voice on the phone but very much still part of the installation team. Outside of work it's basically either music or sport.
